CRUISING to MOUNT ATHOS: Go to Ormos Panagias, this pretty fishing harbor, and take a boat tour (9am daily, 01April - 31October) to view its many monasteries, Ammouliani island and Ouranoupolis. BOATING: Rent a boat and explore Diaporos island noted for its tropical water, and the beaches along east coast that can only be reached by boat. A variety of watersports (water-bikes, sea-scooters, canoes, kayaks) are also available. HIKING: Explore not only the stunning coastline of Sithonia but also the pine- forested hills nearby. Mount Itamos (811m) gives you a panoramic view over the whole peninsula, Athos and Olympus simultaneously. Marked walking trails lead to peaks or to isolated beaches accessible only by foot. Climate conditions are perfect in March and in October. Since winter is smooth and it seldom snows, the January’s sunny days are perfect for a walk in the nature. Don’t miss the traditional villages Agios Nikolaos and Parthenonas.
